THE MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT ON HUTAN KELEKAK IN BANGKA ISLAND.

 Abstract


This Article deals with hutan kelekak in terms of the study on social environment from the perspective of local wisdom. Hutan Kelekak is a local cultural forest in Bangka consisting of fruit plantation that can be benefited for public consumption. Moreover, this forest has traditional and identity values because existence of hutan kelekak inspreadable from local traditional customs. That kind of forest should be developed as a solution for sustainable reforestation because this solutions can cover both the interest of reforestation itself and the interest of people.  In fact, this project is under threat due to mining activities and agricultural industry expansions including but not limited to palm oil plantation. This study argues that this local wisdom has significant role in reforestations and in guaranteeing prosperity of people. For those purposes, the government has to immediately set the policy based on the local wisdom to tackle the hutan kelekak’s destruction comes from high capital flow of mining industries and the palm oil industry in Bangka Belitung that leads to land expansion.
