The Use of Randai as Learning Models, and Its Effect to Student Collaboration Skills

 Abstract


Abstract. The purpose of this study is to modify and apply Randai, one of Minangkabau cultural art, to the learning process to see its influence on student collaboration skill. The steps of using randai in the learning process are based on the learning steps by the role-playing models. This research method is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. Subjects in this study were 44 fifth graders of SDN 29 Gantiang Utara, Padang. The data in this study were collected by test and non-test techniques. The test technique is done through multiple choice questions to assess the collaboration skills of the knowledge aspects. The non-test technique consists of a questionnaire to assess attitude aspects and observation sheets to assess skills aspects. The result showed that learning using randai-based role-playing models had an effect on the collaboration skill of elementary school students.
