KANCA WINGKING AS A REPRESENTATION OF THE WIFE IN ISLAMIC RELIGION BASED ON THE TEXT OF SERAT WASITA DYAH UTAMA
Abstract
This study aims to: 1) describe kanca wingking as the concept of the position of Javanese family wives based on the text of Serat Wasita Dyah Utama, and 2) describe the representation of kanca wingking in the teachings of Islam based on the text of Serat Wasita Dyah Utama. The data source of this research is Serat Wasita Dyah Utama’s text and other literature according to the research objectives. Data is collected by library research techniques. The form of this writing is qualitative descriptive which is analyzed by interactive analysis model by linking three components, namely data display, data reduction, and conclusion drawing / varivication. Based on the results and discussion, conclusions are obtained: 1) Based on the text of Serat Wasita Dyah Utama, one of the things that needs to be considered by women is when she becomes a wife. Kanca wingking is the concept of the position of the Javanese family's wife who is essentially not to place a woman as the husband's subordinate, but actually is a concept to glorify the husband by proper compliance. More inclined to its role in encouraging husbands to work and serve their parents, religion and state, and 2) Islam teaches women to obey their husbands and serve their husbands gently as long as their husbands are in obedience. There is an alignment of life goals in the concept of kanca wingking with the teachings of Islam. There are similarities in how to treat a husband, to serve her mother-in-law, as a mate who plays a role in the husband's service to parents, religion and the state.
