Capabilities of Deafblind Students In Communicating Use Image Symbols (Photographs)
Abstract
This article is discussing the results of research concerning the use of image symbols (photographs) in improving skills to communicate for deafblind students.
This study is designed to examine the effectiveness of image symbols (photographs) application in improving skills to communicate for deafblind students.
Method used in this study is a Single Subject Research (SSR) approach and A-B-A reversal design (baseline-intervention-baseline). Procedures used in this study under each baseline condition are giving verbal instruction, while under each intervention condition is pointing out photographs and students are expected to perform communication behaviours according to the photographs.
The subjects of the study are consisting of three deafblind-lowvision students, age 7-12 years.
The results of the study represent improved communication in using photographs, both expressive and receptive.
