One human effort in conducting dialogue with the cosmos 'universe' and its socio-cultural environment is through their ideas and behavior contained in the practice of self-naming (anthroponim). The practice of self-naming is an indicator that reflects the psychological condition of the people at the macro level, namely: how to portray themselves (inner world) and how to bring their image to the outside world (outsider world), which further reflects the thinking structure of their citizens. This mindset will ultimately help determine the socio-cultural structure of the community and can also be one of the ideological indicators of a community group, which includes among others the values ​​adopted (decency, good-bad, proper-inappropriate). In that string of names implies belief and wisdom and can reflect prayer, aspirations. This means that the name given (carried) will be in accordance with the demands (expectations) of the community at the time it was made and / or the period after the name was given. This proposed study will try to portray the practice of self-naming (anthroponim) in the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar indigenous community and will examine what factors and values ​​lie behind the practice. This study not only portrays the practice of naming in the present but also examines the development of several generations of naming practices. Thus, the development of the worldview of the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar indigenous people will be detected as reflected in the practice of naming. This study will use a qualitative methodological approach that is descriptive analytical method. The data source in this study is the entire Kasepuhan Ciptagelar indigenous community. The data collection technique in this study was participant observation and technique, see and note. The data analysis technique starts with collecting data, reducing data, conducting analysis based on classification and describing it.
