THE VALUES OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN SUNDANESE LANGUAGE TEXT BOOK OF THE 2013 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM
Abstract
This study aims to describe the character education values contained in textbooks for elementary school students (SD) and its relevance to the 2013 Mulok Curriculum for the Study of Sundanese Language and Literature. The main problems in this study are: How are the values of character education in elementary school textbooks and their relevance to the 2013 Local Load Curriculum KI-KD? The method used in this study is the description method. The technique used is literature review, such as reviewing and certifying material in textbooks based on character education values and conformity with basic competence. The source of this research data is the Class 1 to Class 3 "Basa Sunda Urang" Textbook. The results of the study illustrate that Class I to Class III Basa Sunda Books contain character education values and relevance to 2013 Local Content Curriculum Competencies. There are 12 dominant characters found in the textbook, namely religious, disciplined, hard work, responsibility, caring for the environment, curiosity, fond of reading, creative, friendly, peace-loving, social caring, and independent. Besides that, overall the textbook material has relevance to the Local Load Curriculum. These materials, among them prose discourse namely description, exposition, narrative and argumentation; and the poetry poetry of the pupuh, kakawihan, and poems which are complemented by linguistic concepts such as simple words and sentences that are equipped with pictures.
